Very nice. It looks like a lynx! Please do not change this, but his pupil is viewed turned backward in a way that is not exactly natural for the pose as it leads one to believe the cat is looking back at you from the corner of his eye while the rest of the pose suggests otherwise. Don't edit it in any way though, I didn't mean to criticise, just know that for future reference ok? Really, really great work though, it looks like you took a photograph for crying out loud!
Thanks!! Oh, it's okay if you mention things that aren't right in a drawing. It helps me learn these things I see what you mean with that pupil though. I noticed it when the picture was finished, and since I had been erasing a lot I couldn't change that anymore without tearing the paper.. I'm keeping it in mind for when I draw another cat en-profile
You're welcome, and I really don't mean to be picky, I just... was! It really is a nice drawing, and I understand about ripping paper, I was so mad once because I tried to adjust something on one of my sketches that really didn't make that much of a difference, and I ripped it in half down the middle. I just gave up on that project at that point!
Oh, that's okay you're allowed to be picky, just not too much I'm kidding, I really don't mind. As long as it's something I can work on criticism helps me improve. Yikes! I never had one of my drawings ripping almost in half I can imagine you gave up after that.. I already hate it when the top layer of the paper comes off (which thankfully doesn't happen as much now I switched to a heavier paper)
Yeah, I was very... frustrated for lack of a better word, after that happened. And no one even noticed the little scratch until I pointed it out, and then I ripped it. Horrible day that was. And the top layer coming off annoys me to no end. Most of the time I just use printed paper now though because my sketchbook ran out of paper and I'm too lazy to get another; good thing is it doesn't fall apart like my other one did, bad news is it's crappy in all other respects!
Oh yeah, I can imagine! I normally just use cheap paper as well. Only for commissions and for drawings of furry things I use the heavier paper (mainly because it looks fancier, and creating fur with the method I use is hardly possible on lighter paper). It's pretty expensive though, so I use the cheaper paper where ever possible
